Work out at home

Getting in Shape at Home

One of the main things people have complained about was the extra pounds that are being added on as we spend more time at home.   In some areas, gyms have opened up and more people have ventured out.  If you are someone that is spending more time at home their are many at home work out routines that you can do to stay fit.

The best exercise routine that you can do is one that you will be consistent with.     It may not be high intensity for hours, but consistency over time is what gets longterm and long sustaining results.

One video channel to check out is Walk at Home with Leslie Sansone.    There are free workout videos of various lengths and intensity.     These are walking routines that you will be able to do 7 days a week.      She has 15 minutes 20 minute, 30 minute, and 40-minute routines.

Other options include low-intensity workouts.  These are supposed to be easy on the knees and also good for beginners.    Many Youtube channels have these options.

Of course, you can go for walks where you can practice social distancing and still stick to whatever mask use laws that your local laws now require.

The point is that when you are walking at home you need to also watch your diet.

As we are at home we may be more prone to snack out of boredom.  The best bet is to not purchase empty calorie items in the first place.   But being human it does happen.     Another preemptive step is to have a fruit bowl on the counter in the kitchen or on the dining table as you enter the kitchen so that healthy food options are automatically in view.
